Are you dreaming of a destination wedding that combines the vibrant cultures of Ghana and the Dominican Republic, set against the stunning backdrop of Florida's tropical richness? Look no further! I'll explore how you can create a unique and unforgettable wedding experience that reflects the richness of both cultures while enjoying the beauty of Florida as a Destination.
Embracing Ghanan and Dominican Influences
Ghana and the Dominican Republic are known for their colorful traditions, lively music, and delicious cuisines. Incorporating elements from both cultures into your wedding will add a special touch that sets your celebration apart. From traditional Ghanaian kente cloth to Dominican merengue music, there are endless opportunities to infuse your wedding with the vibrant spirit of these two cultures.
Choosing the Perfect Florida Venue
When it comes to hosting a destination wedding in Florida, the options are endless. Whether you envision a beachfront ceremony with the sound of waves in the background or a lush garden setting surrounded by tropical flowers, Florida offers a diverse range of venues to suit your preferences. Consider venues that allow for outdoor ceremonies and receptions to make the most of Florida's beautiful weather.
Planning Your Menu
One of the highlights of any wedding is the food, and with a fusion of Ghanan and Dominican influences, your menu is sure to be a hit. Incorporate traditional dishes such as jollof rice and plantains from Ghana, alongside Dominican favorites like mofongo and empanadas. Don't forget to add a tropical twist with refreshing cocktails and fruity desserts that capture the essence of both cultures.
Zoe & Derrick
Zoe told me about her and Derrick's relationship - We are a very HIGH energy couple who love to laugh, party and goof off. We would love to have the spirit of fun lovingness we have captured in photo/video form..we'll give you lots to work with I'm sure :) They did not lie!
Zoe is from the Dominican Republic and Derrick hails from Ghana and it was super important to represent both cultures in their day while still focusing on having a blast! The found a cute little couple of Cottages in nearby Largo to get ready close to their chosen venue - The Belleair Beach Community Center to host their intimate wedding. With it's beautiful Intracoastal Waterway views just south of Clearwater Beach, it was a great location for guests coming out of town with easy access to the rest of the greater Tampa Bay region.
Surrounded by their nearest and dearest, intertwining Derrick's traditional Ghanian Kente colors, the day was filled with laughter and love and so much great music!
